A controversial school

Yesterday, I wrote to you about a young Catholic couple and the wonderful work they are doing for the kids and families in Pakistan.

Today, I would like to tell you about the work of Sr. Rita, FMM, which has been controversial.

Sr. Rita started working as a principle of a Catholic School in Pakistan a year and a half ago.

When she began, she went around to the different villages in the area and asked why the kids were not attending school.

They told her they couldn’t afford the fees.

Many of the families work in agriculture and can’t even afford the basic necessities.

Sr. Rita believes in that every child should have the opportunity to have an education, no matter what background they come from.

So she decided to lift the fees for these families. These kids now had an opportunity they never had before.

Nevertheless, this was not without its hardships.

Sister was challenged. Others in positions of authority questioned how she could run a school without requiring fees from all the students. They declined giving assistance to her.

Yet even among controversy, sister knew that God does not want these children to be left behind. She took them under her wing to provide an education so they may have hope for a future.

Please pray for Sister Rita, the children, and her school. Have your kids join you in these prayers of intercession for other children and other people throughout the world.

We will be sending one last email tomorrow about a situation most people don’t know exists. It will not be an easy read. Thank you for taking the time to read and pray.

In Christ,

Trevor

P.S. If you know of international organizations that could provide additional relief for these villages and families, please let us know.
