Dirt On My Forehead?

Daisy & Sheep episode 20 🎉

Why are we talking about ashes now?

We wanted to share this episode with you now rather than waiting months to make it available. And, we are entering into another period of preparation, Advent!

Join Daisy & Sheep as they talk about the ashes that we receive as Catholics on Ash Wednesday.

READ WITH YOUR CHILDREN:

On Ash Wednesday, we go to church and receive ashes on our foreheads in the shape of a cross. These ashes remind us to turn away from sin and follow Jesus. The priest or deacon often says, “Remember you are dust, and to dust you shall return,” reminding us that our life on Earth is short, but our souls are forever!

Fun Fact:

The ashes used on Ash Wednesday come from burning the blessed palms from last year’s Palm Sunday! Meaning, your church is storing ashes right now.
